PAWFECTION DOG GROOMING CONTRACT
1. Health, medical issues and elderly dogs: The dog is fit and healthy. Grooming of the dog is undertaken entirely at the owner’s risk. Grooming may expose pre-existing health or skin problems for which Pawfection Dog Grooming cannot be held liable. You will be notified and advised to seek veterinary help if necessary. Grooming can be a stressful experience, particularly for young, elderly and sick dogs. In these circumstances, the dog will be groomed for comfort and cleanliness.
2. Vaccinations: The dog is up to date with veterinary advised vaccinations. An unvaccinated dog puts itself and owners at risk. If you wish to have your unvaccinated dog groomed, Pawfection Dog Grooming cannot be liable for any illness contracted as a result of your dog not being vaccinated.

A muzzle will be used if necessary. In the event that your dog shows unmanageable aggressive behaviour, Pawfection Dog Grooming reserves the right to end the grooming session and all charges until that point will be payable. The owner agrees to be responsible for any and all related medical bills, recovery costs, loss of income and equipment damage as a result of aggressive behaviour displayed by their dog.
4. De-matting policy: Dogs with matted coats require extra attention and will incur additional charges for both clipping and/or brushing out. Complete shaving of a dog will only be carried out if the dog is extensively matted. This will dramatically change the appearance of the dog and the hair will be very short and close to the skin. This may expose pre-existing skin problems for which Pawfection Dog Grooming cannot be held liable. Options for a matted coat will be discussed with the owner prior to the groom taking place. If necessary, the owner will be contacted during the groom. Written consent fre owner is required to shave off a matted coat.
5. Accidents: There is always the possibility that an accident could occur, in most cases due to the dog failing to remain reasonably still during the groom. It should be clearly understood and agreed that whilst extreme caution and care will always be provided, grooming of the dog is undertaken entirely at the owner’s risk. The primary concern of Pawfection Dog Grooming is for the welfare of the dog, therefore in the event of an injury or illness the owner’s nominated veterinary practice may be contacted and unless it can be clearly shown that Pawfection Dog Grooming is liable, all veterinary costs shall be at the owner’s expense.
